Infrared Photography David Butler Jan 18 2024

David very kindly stepped in at short notice to give us a talk on infrared photography.

Most of us have seen infrared images but very few of us have actually taken any. This is because one has to have a camera that has been converted for the purpose.

David began by explaining what is infrared photography and how it differs from thermography. He discussed the optimal times of year and the best subjects to shoot in infrared. He then explained in detail how to actually convert a camera to shoot in infrared. This is something that the majority of us would probably be nervous about tackling ourselves but David with his technical expertise succeeded and in the second half of the evening showed us several excellent infrared images that he had taken with his converted camera.

Many thanks to David for his excellent talk!
