Terry drew on his substantial street photography archives to illustrate PSCC's first talk of the new season. He underlined the advantages of using prime lenses 35-70mm rather than using long zoom lenses which could become somewhat intrusive. He also emphasised that it was important to illustrate the context of street portraits rather than for example just close up head shots.
One of his favourite places for street photography was the area around Brick Lane, the background of graffiti and some wonderful artwork made for some excellent images. Markets such as those in Alcester and Borough markets were also good venues for street photography. If any image could be said to capture the moment, it was Terry's brilliant shot of the expression of the girl facing the heavily armed policeman.
